What we also have to find is justice.                                ~Rigoberta Menchu Call for Info: African Wind Bands Wednesday, 28 March 2007 Spanish conductor of windbands, Carlos Diéguez, is writing an important book on windbands of the world.   The working title “Playing to the Wind”, the reality of windbands, is a project that began in the 2004 and in October of 2007 the book will be published in Spanish and English.   Currently needed: information about african wind bands (military, schools, civil,..., brass bands,...)   The themes of the book are:   1.General History of the bands. (Windbands) Of every country. 2. Questions: are there professional bands in your state, (country)? Other wind bands in your region: militars, community, amateurs, university? What activities fulfil the wind bands ? 3. Professional level of the directors (conductors) 4. Composers of the country for wind band. 5. Photos of your wind band.photos to publish with permission of autor. 6. Wind bands-famous. 7. The women in the bands. 8.
