May The Ritz Chamber Players are performing the 'Sounds of Spring' on Thursday, May 17, 2007 at Jacoby Symphony Hall - Times-Union Center for the Performing Arts (300 West Water Street, Jacksonville, Florida). Concerts start at 7:30 PM. This concert commemorates an important event in American History; the anniversary of the landmark school desegregation case Brown v. Board of Education. In the May 1954, Brown decision, a unanimous U.S. Supreme reversed the 1896 doctrine of "separate but equal" that had denied blacks and other racial and ethnic minorities access to quality education. Program: Beethoven: Piano Trio in D major Op 70 No 1 (‘Ghost’), Bloch: Concertino for flute, viola, and piano (1948), Stella Sungd: Three Songs for Soprano, Clarinet and Piano.
June The Ritz Chamber Players are performing their 'Summer Season Finale' with the Amelia Island Chamber Music Festival on Thursday, June 14, 2007 at Jacoby Symphony Hall - Times-Union Center for the Performing Arts (300 West Water Street, Jacksonville, Florida). The Ritz Chamber Players bring a proper close to our 2006-2007 concert season with our famed neighbors musicians from the Amelia Island Chamber Music Festival. Our departure gift will be the incomparable original chamber music version of Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue played with the astonishing Pianist Terrence Wilson! Program includes: George Gershwin: Rhapsody in Blue (Chamber Version), and Milhaud: La Création du monde.
